Before I go to bed, I want to just let these thoughts overflow in the form of words. I had an exam tonight which I stressed so much in the past two days, but honestly wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Kuddos to the awesome prof who makes law night class bearable. Let's just hope I passed that exam. aiyah!
On another note, I've never been big with Valentines day, but I do admit that I am a sucker for flowers. Forget about the chocolates and jewellery, flowers will definitely melt my lil ole heart. I remember getting random flowers and what-nots from classmates/schoolmates/ and such since gr.7, and thought...would've been nice if I got one today (of course I was just hoping!). Lo and behold I did. An hour before my exam someone close to me brought me a bouquet of roses (nope, not red ones...multi-colored ones!). I know, cheesy as it may sound, I did smile and giggled like a little girl. I never thought he would get me flowers today, because it definitely is a first. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture because I ended up leaving it with him since I had an exam to write and I don't want to carry a bouquet of roses inside the classroom. *sigh* I swear, they're so preeeettty.
Ok enough about some silly flowers...but in all honesty, we can never truly love someone (may it be your brother, mother, cousin, friend, boyfriend, etc) if we do not how to love God. Why? Because God is Love. 1 John 4:8 says: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
I never truly understood this until I longed for God's love. Never have I felt so whole when I constantly seek his will. His grace overflows and all mercy covers me. Today, as we celebrate Valentines day , I keep in mind the source of LOVE in my life...in our lives. Yes, it's nice to have a special someone but, to those who are 'single' and are bitter (coz trust me honey, I know a lot of people who publicly announce how much they hate this holiday), please remember that the ultimate source of LOVE is GOD. No person, no roses, nor chocolates can give us an everlasting LOVE like God does. Yes, all these material things can make us happy...but until when?
...and as I close, let me share you a verse about LOVE.
1 Corinthians 13:4-13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,
it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies,
they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child,
I reasoned like a child. When I became a man,
I put the ways of childhood behind me.
12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;
then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part;
then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.
