BE LIKE SCARLETT O'HARA:
WORRY ABOUT IT TOMORROW.
Scarlett would say, "I'll think about it tomorrow." When you have a multitude of concerns, choose just one to work with today. Set aside all the others and concentrate with your whole being on the one task you have chosen. Do not allow other concerns to steal focus. This can be very restful and empowering. It is soothing and healing to focus on one thing at a time, giving your full attention to whatever you are doing. It is a way to live in the here and now, and to make a conscious choice about where you want to focus your attention.
Mothers of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, who have to juggle a multitude of tasks at once, may have great difficulty doing this exercise. In this busy season of your life, this tip may not be possible to apply, other than in brief moments, usually geared to the attention span of a two-year-old. Understand that certain seasons of life are more full of distractions, and apply this recipe for recollection accordingly.
